About

Helen Powell-Stoddart, M.D., M.S. //  Website

Dr. Helen Powell-Stoddart is a distinguished board-certified physician specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Her academic journey began at Howard University in Washington, DC, where she earned both her Master’s in Anatomy and her Medical Doctorate. Dr. Helen's passion for integrative medicine and wellness was ignited by personal experiences—first, the loss of her mother to illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease, and then her father's diagnosis of metastatic cancer. These events solidified her determination to deeply understand the human body's potential for achieving true health.

Dr. Helen’s medical career is marked by notable achievements. She was one of only two students annually accepted into a dual residency program in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Internal Medicine at Johns Hopkins University. Following her residency, she completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine and Non Surgical Orthopedics and pursued additional specialized training in Interventional Pain. She later began her medical practice in Alabama.

In her practice, Dr. Helen integrates diet and nutrition into her treatment protocols to promote optimal health and well-being. She authored "Reverse it!" and the "Reverse it! Success Journal," foundational texts for her Reverse it! Program. This program educates individuals on reversing lifestyle-related diseases like those that affected her parents. Dr. Helen is also a skilled chef, actively involved in creating recipes for the Reverse it! program. She frequently appears as a guest chef and lecturer on the 3ABN Network, where she teaches cooking principles aimed at reversing serious health conditions.

Dr. Helen's virtual practice, Pain 2 Wellness Healthcare, offers personalized strategies for reversing type 2 diabetes to clients worldwide.

On a personal note, Dr. Helen is married to John Stoddart, a recording artist and composer. They have two daughters, one pursuing music and the other following in Dr. Helen's medical footsteps. The family also includes their Chow Chow dog, Kadoh. Dr. Helen cherishes spending quality time with her family.

“It is necessary to take charge of your health. It is necessary to take charge your life. It is necessary to live life by choice!"
